Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) in October of 2006, VOTE411.org is a "one-stop-shop" for election related information. It provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information on the following aspects of the election process:
On the Vote411.org website, individuals can submit their address and be shown the different election races for their area. Information is then shown about each candidate. Individuals can select their preference and print out an informational sheet to take with them to their polling location.
Program Use
Encouraging families to explore the website will increase their knowledge and confidence in using their voice in the upcoming elections. Education is empowering. This site allows individuals to gain information on not only how to vote, but who they are voting for, in a neutral environment. Staff are also able to utilize this website themselves to help families make sure they are registered and know where to vote.
