iLookOut for Child Abuse Project

The Association is proud to collaborate with the iLookOut team to provide programs with access to their innovative, research-based mandated reporter training. This training is an interactive video-based program designed to engage participants while meeting Pennsylvania state requirements for mandated reporters. As a free resource, it offers an accessible and practical option for providers looking to enhance their practices and ensure compliance.

IMPORTANT:
To meet Pennsylvania state requirements, this training must be completed through the iLookOut website. Completing the training on ECLKC will not fulfill Pennsylvania's mandated reporter requirements.

In support of this initiative, the Association hosted an informational session on iLookOut, led by Dr. Benjamin Levi, iLookOut’s Director. This session provided an overview of the program, its unique features, and how it can support early childhood professionals in protecting children and meeting reporting obligations.

The Penn State College of Medicine invites you and your colleagues to meet your Pennsylvania Mandated Reporter Training requirements (at no cost) by completing iLookOut’s online, interactive, story-based training.

The iLookOut Training can be completed over multiple sessions on your smartphone, tablet, or computer, and has 2 parts:
Core Training: interactive video-based storyline (3 hours total)
Advanced Training: 5-12-minute animated micro-learning exercises (3 hours total)

By completing both iLookOut Trainings you will:
Satisfy Act 31 mandated reporter training requirements
Satisfy Act 126 requirements for Pennsylvania teachers
Receive 6 hours of early childhood Professional Development credit from the PA Key (free of charge)
Learn about how you can support at-risk children and their families
Help us determine the most effective way to prepare mandated reporters
Receive a $15 gift card to thank you for completing both trainings, and a post-training check-in

Unlike other mandated reporter trainings, iLookOut:
Has been shown in published research to improve knowledge and change attitudes about child abuse and its reporting
Uses a video-based storyline and gamification
Is the mandated reporter training for Head Start programs nationwide
